The Stretch of Miamisburg-Centerville Road That Quietly Filled Up This Year

  • October 15, 2026

Between 359 and 549 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, in a run of plazas most of us pass on the way to somewhere else, four businesses opened their doors in 2026. A fifth, announced in February, is now listed as open. Most of them were started by people who had already built a following somewhere else in the region and picked this stretch of State Route 725 for their next location. Several of them are built for staying a while.

That second point changes how the block works on a weeknight or a gray October Saturday. A cooking class runs about three hours. Open play at a pickleball club has no set end. A 13,000-square-foot consignment floor takes some time to walk. For years this stretch was a place for errands. This year it gained places where you can spend an evening.

Here is the block in address order, so you can place each door:

Address Business What it is Status
359 Miamisburg Centerville Rd PickleRage Indoor pickleball club, 10 courts Opened; grand opening weekend Oct. 10–11
465 Miamisburg Centerville Rd Global Gourmet Wine and charcuterie shop, cooking classroom, tasting room Opened mid-January
465 Miamisburg Centerville Rd GoChop, inside Global Gourmet Fast-casual African bowls and wraps Grand opening July 11
548 Miamisburg Centerville Rd This N That Consignments Consignment store Announced February 2026; now listed as open
549 Miamisburg Centerville Rd HFC Wings & Tenders Broast chicken, tenders, wings Opened June 23

The pattern: second locations and second acts

Start with the newest arrival at the busiest corner of the run. HFC Wings & Tenders opened its second location at 549 Miamisburg Centerville Road on June 23. Its first is on Airway Road in Riverside, and the new one took over the space left by No Name Cowboy Artisan Jerky, which closed earlier in the year, WDTN reported. The menu runs to broast chicken, sandwiches, tenders, wings, milkshakes, onion rings and quesadillas.

Directly across the address numbers, This N That Consignments followed the same path from the other direction. The owner of the Mason store at 753 Reading Road announced in February that a 13,000-square-foot location was coming to Home Center in the 500 block, and that the Mason shop would stay open. At the time, WHIO reported the owners hoped to open in April. The company's locations page now lists the store at 548 Miamisburg Centerville Rd, open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Global Gourmet at 465 is the clearest second act on the block. Founder and owner Nikki Markoff opened it in mid-January in the Normandy Square shopping center after what Dayton937 described as a very long effort to get the doors open. Before this, Markoff taught cooking classes at Hidden Valley Orchards in Lebanon and ran a prepared-meal service that still takes orders online. The instructor roster carries the same kind of history. Classes from Amber Tipton, who ran The Neighborhood Nest and specializes in gluten-free baked goods, and cake decorating from Bae's Bakery were part of the opening lineup.

The people behind PickleRage at 359 are also building on something they already had. Franchisees TJ and Kari Pantano are named in the company's original announcement of the Centerville club, and Kari Pantano spoke to WDTN this week about playing on the club's CushionX courts.

Why the formats matter as much as the names

What ties these openings together is how long a visit lasts.

Global Gourmet is laid out as a sequence of rooms. You walk in through the wine shop, which also stocks charcuterie board supplies, pass into the hands-on classroom, and end in a community room that seats wine and bourbon tastings for groups of up to 40. The January classes show what the classroom is for. "Tuscan Treasures" ran from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with handmade spinach and ricotta ravioli and cannoli for $75. A Cuban class ran 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the same price, and a pierogi class was $65. I couldn't confirm the fall lineup from the class page, so check the current calendar on Global Gourmet's site before planning around a specific menu.

In July, the building also got a lunch-and-dinner counter. GoChop, founded by Vivian Elebiyo Okojie, held its grand opening inside Global Gourmet on Saturday, July 11. Okojie told WDTN the bowls are meant as "a travel across Africa through your tastebuds," with signature bowls running from a Marrakesh bowl to a Nairobi messy bowl, a West African GoChop bowl and South African-inspired dishes. A July listing gave its hours as Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. I haven't seen a more recent update, so a quick call to 937-930-FOOD before a Tuesday dinner run is sensible.

PickleRage stretches the block's hours more than any other opening. The club's location page lists 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, and the facility has 10 indoor courts. For a corridor whose storefronts mostly close in the early evening, a building lit until 10 p.m. every night is a real change, especially as daylight shortens. The pro shop is fully stocked, according to WDTN's opening coverage.

On pricing, the location page describes open play as free and lays out two memberships with unlimited open play, but it doesn't list membership prices. Its FAQ also mentions drop-in rates without giving amounts. The club's booking calendar is the most specific source right now.

This weekend, and the next two

The timing makes this a good month to try the block. PickleRage's grand opening weekend is happening now, with free open play, live music, food, games and raffles. The club's CourtReserve calendar lists "Grand Opening Free Open Play" on Sunday, Oct. 11, and an "Early Bird Morning $5 Drop-In" on Monday, Oct. 12.

A rainy Saturday on this stretch could go like this:

  1. Morning courts at PickleRage at 359, which opens at 8 a.m.
  2. A slow walk through This N That at 548, which opens at 10 a.m.
  3. Lunch at GoChop inside Global Gourmet at 465, if the July hours still hold, or HFC next door to the consignment store at 549.
  4. A bottle and charcuterie supplies from the Global Gourmet shop on the way out, or an evening class if one is on the calendar.

None of those stops needs a reservation except the class, and all four sit within about 200 address numbers of each other.

What's next farther west

The pattern continues past this block. Toward the Dayton Mall, Hummus & Garlic is taking over the former So Pizza space at 2419 Miamisburg-Centerville Road. The chain's own site lists the Dayton location among those "on the way," with a date of Oct. 26. That's a scheduled date. Opening day may still move.

Farther along, Vasa Fitness proposed a gym of more than 50,000 square feet in South Towne Centre at 2070 Miamisburg Centerville Road. In June, the projected schedule was construction starting in early September and finishing in May 2027, subject to approvals and changes. I haven't confirmed whether that schedule held, so treat it as a proposal, not a sure thing.

Taken together, the newcomers around Normandy Square came from Riverside, Mason, a Lebanon orchard kitchen and a franchise team with a personal connection to the sport. Each found room on the same short run of SR 725. The fall calendar at Global Gourmet and the first full month of play at PickleRage will show how much of the block's evening life sticks.
